Arts is associated with expression, opening up and expression yourselves without any boundaries. For arts, the world is a canvas and anything and everything could be accommodated within it. Unfortunately, in India, Fine & Performance Arts are not given enough importance in the mainstream or popular curriculums. Hence it is always pursued as a fall back or last option for many, especially due to parents’ pressure, unless someone is really determined to pursue her interests.

It is often understood as unchartered territory, primarily due to the lack of knowledge and no defined career paths, however this field has evolved with lot of clarity for the young generation to take it up as a career option. A professional degree would be helpful to have a guided approach. There are several institutions and academies that nurture the talent. The field could be understood as the action on the stage and behind it; both areas showcasing several career options.

Being a creative oriented field, all the direct and supporting career options related to fine and performing arts are challenging and demanding, especially with less personal space. Usually an artist has a form or a period where her talents and contributions are well received hence it needs timing and patience.
